Models in FeedExpertMaking science accessible for practical application—that’s how Rovecom started FeedExpert over 30 years ago. At that time, knowledge from Wageningen University on optimal animal feeding was hardly usable for feed advisors. Over the years, Rovecom has expanded its feeding models through collaborations with universities, independent feed research, and mineral suppliers. Various models are now available for calculating forage intake capacity, energy and protein models, and detailed rumen models.
Dry Matter Intake ModelThe dry matter intake model calculates how much forage a cow can consume. This allows for determining how much of the cow’s needs can be met by the basic ration and how much supplemental feed is required.
